Beaches
There are over 120 beaches on Menorca, here are a few of our favourites:
Son bou
Is the largest of the beaches and all sand, there are restaurants on the beach,
a perfect place to walk in the surf as the sun sets, please note that the far
end of the beach is nudist, there is a small town adjacent to the beach with
plenty of shops, bars & restaurants.
Cala Galdana
A large Pretty cove with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the world going by
(slowly) Again plenty of shopping in the resort.
Macarella
A bumpy road journey finds a small car park 6 euros is the general fee, this
leads straight onto the beach, which is a sandy cove.
Just off the beach there are a bars, cafés, toilets and showers.
Cala’n Bosch
Is a man made marina and sandy beach, only a short journey from the villa, there
is a water park restaurant and places to watch the boating crowd.
Monte Toro
Monte Toro is Menorca's geographical and spiritual centre, and at 357 meters it
is also its highest point. On a clear day it offers fantastic views,
particularly of Fornells and the far away outline of Mallorca.
The summit is home to a restored baroque church, built in 1595, and a monastery,
founded by Augustnian monks at the end of the seventeenth century.
Boat Trips
From Ciutadella, pleasure boats take you to certain beaches on the south coast
unreachable by car. A paella, is generally provided on one of the beaches
arranged by the tour boats
A small boat can be hired from Ciutadella harbour, these can generally take four
people and are great fun, we always use the firm opposite the restaurants near
the slip end, don’t forget water and sun cream, these boats can be hired for
half a
day, no licence is required on the small crafts, but the larger crafts will
require an ICC licence.
Golf
Want to play some golf during your villa holiday in Menorca? Then
get yourself down to Son Parc where you can play 9 or 18 holes. Son
Parc is a championship quality course, ideal for beginners and experienced
golfers alike.
